Threads starts testing search in a few countries

Slowly, the social network Threads — which arrived to clash with Twitter X — is gaining improvements here and there, to the point of really trying to establish a minimally interesting level for use by the general public.

Recently, for example, we saw the arrival of the web version — which, according to a survey released by TechCrunch, did very little to increase interaction on the network — in the repost tabs and in the “Following” feed. Now, finally, the network has started to test a search system.

For now, as the head of Instagram said, the novelty is only being tested in two countries (Australia and New Zealand). The plan, however, is to launch it in other English-speaking countries soon. Also, they are working to add more languages ​​as soon as possible.

Still according to TechCrunch, at the moment it is basically only possible to search for usernames. However, the company is working to implement a full text search for the tool (as shown in the screenshot, tapping “Search for […]”).
