In Ukraine and around the world, October 9 is celebrated as Post Day, Realtor Day and World Financial Planning Day. Believers commemorate the day of memory of the holy apostle Jacob Alphaeus.
World Post Day
This international holiday was founded in 1969 at the Congress of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in Tokyo. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness of the importance of postal services in the daily lives of people and businesses, as well as to promote the development of postal services in the world.
This day is celebrated to commemorate the founding of the Universal Postal Union on October 9, 1874 in Bern, Switzerland. Today, the Air Force unites 192 countries, including Ukraine.
Realtor Day in Ukraine
This unofficial professional holiday was founded in 1999 at the First All-Ukrainian Congress of Realtors. It was celebrated for the first time in 2000. Realtors play an important role in real estate, helping people buy, sell, and rent homes and commercial properties.
They act as intermediaries in transactions, ensuring legal purity and favorable conditions for their clients.
World Financial Planning Day
This holiday was started to raise awareness about the importance of financial planning and managing personal finances. The main goal of this day is to help people understand how to properly plan their finances in order to achieve financial stability and well-being. Various activities such as seminars, webinars, consultations with financial experts are held on this day to help people learn how to manage their money effectively.
What a church holiday on October 9
October 9 in the church calendar is the day of commemoration of the holy apostle Jacob Alphaeus. He was one of the twelve apostles chosen by Jesus Christ to preach the Gospel. He was the son of Alphaeus and the brother of the apostle Matthew. Yakov was noted for his service, treatment of ailments and preaching in different countries.
After the descent of the Holy Spirit, James preached in Judea, Edessa, Tyre, Gaza, Eleutheropolis, as well as in Persia and Egypt. He cured various ailments, drove away evil spirits and brought many people to Christ.
