Threads arrives in the European Union

MADRID (EFE).— The Meta group launched Threads in the countries of the European Union, where the application can now be downloaded, and its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, welcomed new users from his account.

“Today (yesterday) we opened Threads in more countries in Europe. Welcome everyone,” is Zuckerberg’s message, to which users from the nations where the service already reaches have reacted.

The new network of the founder of Facebook and president of Meta was launched last July, but not in the European Union, as European privacy regulations would first be studied.

Threads emerged as a competitor to X, the former Twitter, currently owned by Elon Musk.

The new network offers to write texts of up to 500 characters, videos of up to five minutes long and have greater control over mentions.

Since its launch, Threads has announced new features, such as the option to view the content of accounts that users follow in a chronological manner. In addition, last August it included the possibility of sharing a Threads publication to Instagram direct messages, adding a description to the photos or videos that are published and a “mention button” that allows you to more easily cite other accounts.
