Thousands of users were left without electricity during the New Year celebrations

After 30 minutes past midnight, several users began to report on social networks that they had suffered power outages in various neighborhoods of the city of Buenos Aires.

In dialogue with LA NACION, sources from Edesur, the affected electricity company, detailed that the interruption was caused by a problem in the high voltage network that affected the Perito Moreno substation.

At the moment, There are 189,630 affected clients of the Liniers, Falcón, Lugano, Alberdi, Constitución, Perito Moreno, Constitución, Caballito and Luro substations.

The causes behind the cut are unknown, although the firm detailed that They have already recovered most of the substations and that “maneuvers continue to be carried out on the network to recover everything shortly.”

On its Twitter account, Edesur provided some more details regarding what happened. “A problem in the high voltage network generated a cut at 0.23 that affects some neighborhoods in our concession area in the Federal Capital,” said the post.

“Our technical teams are working. The service is being restored in stages”, closed the message.

After 2 AM, almost two hours following the incident was recorded, Edesur notified that supply had already been restored to all affected users.
