UPDATE 4:16 PM: More than 81,000 Hydro-Quebec customers without power; the majority of outages are recorded in Montreal and the Laurentians.
Several Hydro-Québec customers are without power due to the violent storms that are currently hitting several regions of the province.
Severe thunderstorms hit several areas of southern Quebec on Sunday. The Quebec region and Chaudières-Appalaches are also targeted by severe thunderstorm watches.
Environment Canada has issued watches for regarding fifteen regions.
“Conditions are conducive to the formation of severe thunderstorms that can produce strong gusts, large hail and heavy rain,” the federal agency said on its website.
