Those who do not pick up their documents at Saime will have to pay a fee

People who exceed the document withdrawal time at the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Immigration (Saime) must pay a fee, informed Gustavo Vizcaíno, director of that agency, on Monday.

Given this, he called on the population to withdraw the documents in a timely manner to avoid sanction.

Vizcaíno pointed out that at the Saime headquarters in Propatria, Sucre parish, there are 3,998 passports and extensions, protected in the vault. Of these, 926 correspond to minors.

The price of the passport is 3.6 petros and the extension has a value of 1.8 petros. This payment can be made through the banks of Venezuela and Mercantil, Banesco, as well as the Petro website.

The authorities have repeatedly indicated that the delivery of identification documents will be made only to the holder.

Citizens also have the possibility to pay expediting fees to obtain the passport expressly.

home deliveries

Vizcaíno reiterated that the home delivery of passports is underway, but for now the service is only provided in Canada. In the rest of the world, home delivery applies only when it comes to extension.

“Wherever you are, you can request the sticker for your ordinary passport extension or renewal and you will arrive at your destination,” he said.

This service will also start in Venezuela.

In addition, a 46-page passport will be available for frequent travelers. “It is already being prepared and we will make the corresponding announcement,” said the official.
