THE perpetrator of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a meeting in Pennsylvania, Thomas Matthew Crooks, apparently had a recorded educational background and political activity.
According to local media reports and a video from the school’s graduation ceremony, Crooks graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022.
Data from database Pennsylvania voters’ records show that Crooks is registered as a Republican voter, matching the name, age and address in Bethel Park that law enforcement was investigating Saturday night.
This year’s presidential election will be his first time voting.
Federal Election Commission records show that a donor named Thomas Crooks with the same address gave a $15 contribution to a progressive political action committee called Progressive Turnout Project in January 2021.
Crooks’ father, Matthew Crooks, said he was trying to understand what happened.
“I’ll wait until I talk to law enforcement,” he was quoted as saying via CNN.
