The diploma was unveiled at an event organized by the Nobel Peace Center on Saturday.

They receive the award for their efforts for a world free of nuclear weapons and for testifying why nuclear weapons must never be used again.
In addition to prize money and a gold medal, the Peace Prize winner receives a diploma with a work of art signed by Buskov.
– During the last year there have been moments when making art seemed hopeless. In the process of creating the diploma, I was reminded that I must use what I have, my creative freedom. It is a freedom I will never take for granted, says Buskov.
The head of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Jørgen Watne Frydnes, gave a lecture in which he pointed out, among other things, that the concept of nuclear war is abstract to many. Masako Wada, a representative of Nihon Hidankyo, also participated via video link.
The Nobel Prize has a long diploma tradition. The original peace prize diploma, which was used at all award ceremonies until 1969, was designed by Gerhard Munthe. From 1970 to 1990, the diploma was adorned with a woodcut by Ørnulf Ranheimsæter, and in 1991 it was decided that the diploma’s appearance should be renewed every year.
