A recent study reveals that 61% of senior and middle management in Latvian companies acquired artificial intelligence (AI) skills in 2024, with 36% of employees also gaining access to AI training. The “Digital Portrait of a Manager 2024” study, conducted by Jumis, surveyed 372 managers, department heads, and employees across Latvian companies. The findings indicate a strong commitment to providing digital skills training for both managers and employees. The curriculum encompasses a wide range of topics, from cutting-edge technologies to foundational computer skills.
Popular training topics among employees included document management and record-keeping systems (38%), AI solutions (36%), and document sharing systems (31%). Data security and data protection training also saw considerable interest, with 29% of companies offering such programs. Surprisingly, 25% of companies still provide training on basic office software, highlighting a need to solidify fundamental digital skills.
Managers showed the greatest enthusiasm for learning AI applications to enhance work productivity, especially amidst challenges in finding qualified personnel. While other digital skills received less attention, managers prioritized developing complementary skills like work-life balance (51%), time management (45%), and employee motivation (44%).Stress management (36%) and conflict resolution (29%) training where also prevalent.
