This would be the new peak and plate in Bogotá to relieve vehicular congestion on this road

In order to reduce traffic jams in Bogotá, especially on Calle 13, one of the most congested in the capital, The Mayor’s Office of Funza proposed to Mayor Claudia López to establish a pick and plate for heavy-duty vehicles.

According to what was reported, the measure would work between 5:00 and 8:00 am, a time when many people enter and leave the city. These traffic jams would also be affecting municipalities in the province of Sabana de Occidente.

According to what he explained in conversation with Blu Radio, The idea of the restriction would be something temporary, because for López it would not be a measure that puts an end to the problem of vehicular congestion.

In this sense, the mayor pointed out that a definitive solution is to be able to use the money from the tolls to widen the access road to and from the city.

“Last week I proposed to build a right of petition, in which we ask the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá to put a pick and plate for cargo transportation, between 5:00 in the morning and 8:00 at night; that is the hour in which we need to decongest that main road, 13th streetwhich collapses the other municipal roads. Promised is debt; for this reason, today I already have it in my hands and it is addressed to all decision-making bodies in the Capital”, explained the mayor of Funza, Daniel Felipe Bernal.

Therefore, López stated that this issue is “a headache. The entrance is by Funza. If Funza puts up a bill and plate, let him put it up, let him enforce it and we support him. We agree, the Government, Funza and us, but let’s be clear: the solution that 13 needs is a worthy solution. Through the 13 enters half of the cargo that enters Bogotá and exports. It cannot continue to be such a trail, ”she pointed out.
