This weekend, we kill time by playing… on PowerPoint

The weekend is finally here, and what better way to clear your brain than hanging out on a useless and therefore absolutely essential site? That’s good, that’s the concept of this section.

This week, we invite you to play a game like no other. And for good reason, it is not played on your PlayStation or your Nintendo Switch, but within PowerPoint, Microsoft’s presentation software. Roche Limit, that’s its name, has indeed been designed for the office suite.

Composed of 1,536 slides, Roche Limit is a point-and-click horror game, made entirely in pixel art. And it’s beautiful, despite its deliberately unhealthy atmosphere. The title, which ends in about twenty minutes, was put together by developer Jack Strait.

And the choice of PowerPoint quickly imposed itself on him, as he explains to the Game Developer site : “The reason I chose PowerPoint was probably because I was already familiar with the software. When I was very young and slightly obsessed with computers, I spent a lot of time playing with the programs that came pre-installed on my computer. I was also a big fan of stop motion animations, and when I got tired of doing them with my camera, I started animating things in PowerPoint. Very early on, I already knew the basics of what I needed to know to create the game.”

We don’t tell you more. If you have PowerPoint, Roche Limit can be downloaded for free at this address.
