Robeilys Peinado qualified for the women’s pole vault final by clearing the 4.20-meter bar on her first attempt, placing her among the top 10 athletes in her group.

Although she rose to reach the mark of 4.40 meters, the Venezuelan failed in her three attempts to reach 4.55 meters. Despite this, she will be part of the 20 candidates who will try to get on the podium.

The women’s pole vault final is scheduled for Wednesday, August 7 at 1:00 p.m. (Venezuela time). Peinado, 26 years old, obtained an Olympic diploma in Tokyo 2020 and seeks to surpass the 4.53 meters she achieved in the 2024 Diamond League to win the bronze medal in that competition.

Long distance runner Joselyn Brea finished 14th in the women’s 5,000m final. She had initially finished 15th, but Kenyan Faith Kipyegon was disqualified for pushing Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay.
