In this regard, a new study found that ultra-processed foods, including packaged snacks and sugary drinks, may increase a person’s risk of developing bowel cancer.
The researchers examined data from three major long-term health studies, including more than 46,000 men and regarding 160,000 women, who were followed for 24 to 28 years. During this period, 3,216 cases of bowel cancer were identified.
The researchers found that ultra-processed foods, including soft drinks, packed snacks, commercial bread, cakes, biscuits and sweets.
Ready-to-eat products or prepackaged thermal products have been linked to an increased risk of bowel cancer.
