The Teletubbies series became a spectacle for children in the late 90s. The program has become one of the favorite shows in almost all of the world.
Many are looking forward to the action of Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po every morning. But who would have thought that there was one episode that was considered too scary and dangerous to be banned worldwide.
This happened in the episode titled The Lion and The Bear which was made in 1997. The rejection of the episode was made several years later, namely in 1999.

So what exactly is the content of the episode? In the show, the Teletubbies had guests, namely a lion and a bear in the form of cardboard.
The bear appeared first and was chased by a lion. But the arrival of the bear was enough to scare Laa-Laa and her siblings.
“I’m the bear, I’m the bear, I’m coming,” he said, grinning in an eerie voice.
Then the equally scary lion arrived.

“I’m a scary lion, with my scary teeth. I’m the most scary and feared,” he said.
The scene made the atmosphere even more creepy where Laa-Laa asked her brother to hide from their pursuit.
The episode drew criticism from parents who said children might be traumatized by seeing it and become a public discussion.
One review even dubbed the scene as the greatest horror film of all time.
Four years later the BBC edited the sketch to make it more child-friendly. In the censored sketch, many of the original elements have been altered. Now the Teletubbies look excited by the arrival of the bear.
The bear’s voice has also been edited to sound less scary and the threatening music has been replaced with something more upbeat.
Instead of being frightened by the bear, the Teletubbies are now giggling at his presence. They kept laughing all the way and celebrating when the Lion chased the Bear away instead of running away on its own.
