This Sunday is the deadline for public officials to make an affidavit of assets

Caracas.- This Sunday, July 31, is the deadline for high-level and trusted officials of the public administration to make their sworn statement of assets before the Comptroller General of the Republic.

On the website www.cgr.gob.ve you will find the option “Sworn Declaration of Wealth”, to comply with this mandatory requirement.

All officials who hold high-level and trusted positions in the National Public Administration were summoned by the Comptroller General of the Republic and President of the Republican Moral Council, Elvis Amoroso, on July 1st.

In the call, Amoroso stressed that July 31 is the deadline to comply with the obligation to update the Sworn Declaration of Assets, as established by the Law Against Corruption and the Organic Law of the Comptroller General of the Republic and of the National Fiscal Control System.

Failure to comply with this obligation carries a sanction with fines ranging from 100 to 1,000 units of the official exchange rate of the highest value currency published by the Central Bank of Venezuela, in force at the time of payment, as well as the suspension of the exercise of the position without salary for up to 18 months and disqualification from exercising public office, referred to a press release from the Comptroller’s Office.

On the page www.cgr.gob.ve, high-level and trusted officials must select the sworn statement of assets option and then that of public officials and employees, where they must enter their username and password sent to their email.
