Washington State is sending its residents a financial aid of up to $200.00 USD. This is a one-time payment to help families cover their electricity bills in the middle of summer. Here we tell you how to apply for it.
The high temperatures led the Washington government to make several decisions on the subject. Those eligible will receive credits of up to $200.00 USD. It is estimated that the aid will reach more than 675 thousand homes. The aforementioned Washington program is funded by the Climate Commitment Act (CCA), according to its governor, Jay Inslee.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Washington Green Energy Incentives for Families program and the $200.00 USD rebate, you must meet specific criteria. These may vary depending on the counties and utility districts. As reported, the primary goal is to benefit low-income citizens.
The program requires participating utilities to work on the following priority basis.
-Customers with an area median income (AMI) of 80% or less, with the option to expand eligibility up to 150% of AMI if available.
-In areas like Seattle, Everett and Vancouver, the qualifying income for a four-person household ranges from $110,950 USD to $226,050 USD.
-For a family of four with the lowest cost of living, this equates to a household income of $72,000 USD and up to $135,000 USD as funds allow.
The process ensures that only targeted groups receive rebates and that other residents are not excluded from this opportunity. Some Washington residents will automatically apply for the $200.00 USD credit, while others will need to apply. Each utility company may have completely different criteria and processes.
