This start-up wants to build a large nanosatellite factory in Toulouse

Founded in early 2018, the Toulouse start-up U-Space specializes in the development and operation of nanosatellites, and more specifically CubeSat (whose volume is measured in U, which corresponds to a cube 10 cm in coast). His legacy comes from one of the very first Cnes CubeSats missions: EyeSata 3U CubeSat equipped with a mini-telescope whose purpose is to image zodiacal light, sunlight scattered by interplanetary dust particles.

CubeSat operations launched in 2019 were entrusted to U-Space. EyeSat is still alive. Since then, U-Space has gained experience and obtained several contracts for the development of demonstration CubeSats and has been preselected to develop a CubeSat for monitoring space traffic from geostationary orbit.

Having raised 7 million euros last year, U-Space is on the rise and now wants to move to the industrial stage, recruiting staff, and wishing to build a nanosatellite factory. This would be operational in 2024 and is supposed to be able to produce nearly 300 nanosatellites per year around 2025. Following the example of SpaceX, the goal is to cut prices.
