this Sony exclusive that REALLY deserves a remake

Does Horizon Zero Dawn really deserve a remake? Opinions differ. In our opinion, the PlayStation exclusive that most deserves a remake is this one.

PlayStation exclusives that deserve a remake, there are plenty

The rumor made a big noise at the beginning of the week. Sony and Guerilla Games would work on a Horizon Zero Dawn remake or remaster. On Twitter, a good number of players expressed their annoyance at seeing this type of project multiply, especially on such recent games.

Fans would much rather see games as Silent Hill,Metal Gear Solid or Ape Escape make their comeback in better-than-ever versions. On our side, we have our opinion on the matter. The PlayStation exclusive that really deserves a remake comes to us from Square Enix. It is Dirge of Cerberus : Final Fantasy 7.

Should a remake “resurrect” a game already loved by all or revamp a mediocre title to make it an unmissable one? The industry seems to have decided, because the first case arises much more often than the second. This can be understood, because this strategy ensures commercial success, which is not the case with the second option. And that’s a shame.

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy 7, a remake to close the loop?

Dented titles that might be turned into masterpieces, there are a lot of them. According to U.S, Dirge of Cerberus : Final Fantasy 7 is one. The Sony exclusive released in 2006 on PS2 concludes the great story of the saga Final Fantasy 7. In this third party shooter, you don’t control Cloud, but Vincent Valentine.

The strong point of the game lies in its scenario, which teaches us a lot regarding fan favorite character and the universe of Final Fantasy 7. Unfortunately, the rest does not really follow. The fights are not very exciting (despite a very successful weapon customization system) and the artistic direction of the game and its dull decors as possible leave something to be desired. In short, the exclusive PlayStationhad potential but still an average game.

A remake of the game developed by Square Enix might erase all its faults and offer graphics up to those of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. In addition to this, the project would be consistent with the strategy of Square Enix to put back the saga FF 7 up to date. Crisis Core : Final Fantasy 7 will be entitled to its remake in Decemberso why not Dirge of Cerberus ? Its simple name would be enough to attract millions of fans, even if the original game is much more confidential than a classic FF.

Only problem: the game concludes the story started in the original episode of FF 7 released on the first PlayStation and is set following the movie Advent Children. The remakes of FF 7, they offer a whole new scenario. Square Enix would then have to make a choice: modify the story of Dirge of Cerberusto stick to the “new saga” Final Fantasy 7 or propose an unchanged scenario under penalty of losing new fans.
