Sriracha sauce might soon disappear from the shelves of our stores. Huy Fong Company, one of the largest producers of hot sauces in the Asian market and in the world, says it is facing a shortage of red jalapeño peppers.
“Unfortunately, we can confirm that there is an unprecedented shortage of our products. We are still working to resolve this issue which was caused by several events, including an unexpected crop failure of the spring chili crop,” the company said in a statement.
Some consumers, fans of the hot sauce, have already taken the lead in deciding to stock up en masse in their supermarkets.
