MW3 players are engaged in a heated debate over whether a controversial weapon should be weakened or left as is.

Modern Warfare 3 is no stranger to fans demanding changes, whether to weapons or a more focused effort to combat cheaters.

Unfortunately, these cases are never simple, as some fans think it’s better to go with the flow instead of complaining regarding fixes that might never happen.

Such is the case with a new debate raging online, with two camps arguing over whether or not a specific weapon should be immediately weakened.

MW3 players debate the need to weaken a weapon as quickly as possible

The debate is currently taking place on the MW3 subreddit, where a post was made denouncing the power of the BAS-B, a combat rifle popular among the most competitive players.

The post in question is accompanied by a long statement which describes the weapon as “…much too powerful and the pool of accessories for this one makes it recoilless in the right hands. Need to be weakened as quickly as possible.”

Many other players agree with this sentiment, with one user saying: “The [BAS-B] needs weakening. It’s the best submachine gun, assault rifle, combat rifle and sniper in the game.”

It’s clear that the weapon is incredibly powerful with the right attachments, to the point of dominating the game’s meta.

However, other MW3 fans defend the weapon, saying that it doesn’t make sense to rebel and complain regarding the weapon instead of just using it like everyone else.

“Certainly it needs to be weakened but this is the wrong approach. Why wouldn’t people use it to stay competitive instead of complaining on Reddit?”

Another player was a little less diplomatic in his response: “If one weapon ruins your game, you’re just bad.”

There will always be debates regarding which weapons are more popular or powerful in MW3, and this is just one example of many that are sure to come.
