Sleep expert narwan Amini said:”We found that sleeping on your side is the most beneficial position for your brain, as it helps your brain get rid of interstitial waste faster than other asanas.
“This leads to multiple benefits including reducing the risk of neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s,” she added, and sleeping on your side is the healthiest sleep position, as it provides good support for the spine.
Experts have confirmed that sleeping on your stomach can lead to muscle and joint strain, back and neck pain.
Dr Helen benvenist said: this side position during sleep to clean our brain of waste products that have accumulated while we are awake.
She pointed out that many types of dementia are associated with sleep disorders, including sleep difficulties, indicating that these disorders may accelerate memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease.
