If you want to watch the One Piece anime in its entirety, unfortunately it’s impossible. One of the episodes has completely disappeared.
A missing episode of One Piece ! The anime now has over a thousand episodes and is far from over, but for those who think they’ve seen it all, you’re wrong. In fact, a special episode was only broadcast once in 2015 on Fuji TV – a Japanese television channel. However, we still know what this “lost media” entailed. To recontextualize, the events take place in the Long Ring Long Land arc during a competition between pirates. Specifically, the Straw Hats crew are ambushed by the Foxy Pirates and challenged to a “Davy Back Fight” – a traditional game held in homage to Davy Jones. In the anime, episodes 217 to 219 cover this passage. This part was then summarized in a special episode called “One Piece: Long Ring Long Land – A One Night Abridged Special”. And you will never be able to see this recap. Aside from the latter, all seasons of One Piece are available on Crunchyroll, the series is broadcast on Netflix.
A successful work
One Piece is one of the most famous manga. It was started in 1997 and is still being written. The anime began broadcasting in 1999 and a Live Action series has recently been in development. The first season was, in fact, released several weeks ago and a second is currently in preparation. As a reminder, the work follows Monkey D. Luffy who undertakes a long journey, accompanied by his new friends, in order to search for One Piece and fulfill his dream. The manga has notably set records, including that of the greatest number of sales in 2022. The latter took place on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Japanese comics with the release of volume 103. That day, the books exceeded the mark of 500 million copies sold.
The Netflix series has also been a success since its release. Although fans were skeptical when the live action adaptation was announced, reviews have been very positive. It notably received 85% on Rotten Tomatoes and 4.3/5 on AlloCiné. Faced with this success, a season 2 is therefore in development and the team hopes to make 12.
