The new Talaria Dragon electric motorcycle marks a major step forward from the last impressive model, the Talaria XXX. In fact, this new electric enduro motorcycle seems to want to reshape the off-road world.
The off-road electric motorcycle landscape is full of new high-performance models, including the Sur-Ron. Another brand looking to grab the crown in the off-road electric motorcycle segment is Talaria. It has already amazed everyone with its latest Talaria XXX, and now this brand outdoes itself with the Talaria Dragon at EICMA 2023.
Talaria wants to compete with Sur-Ron in the E-enduro market
In the category of enduro electric motorcycles, the competition is tough. Sur-Ron has set the bar very high with his Storm Bee. Talaria joins the competition today by presenting its new electric motorcycle, the Dragon. This powerful enduro electric motorcycle has standard dimensions and rides on wheels from 21 to 18 inches. Its performance is surprising and, once launched on the market, it might set a new standard for lightweight off-road two-wheelers. While little is known regarding the availability of the new off-roader, some of the motorcycle’s juicy specifications and a series of photos have been revealed.
Let’s come straight to the performance of the bike. The Talaria Dragon is powered by a mid-drive type electric motor. In fact, this engine transmits power to the rear wheel through a transmission chain. Its announced power is the 10 kW, but that’s nothing compared to its maximum power of 28 kW. Such power combined with the instant throttle response of an electric motor makes it a car to handle with care. It seems that the Dragon is by no means a motorcycle for beginners.
Great autonomy combined with a constant speed of 25 km/h
As for the battery, this enduro electric motorcycle uses a block of 88.8 V et 58.5 A. This capacity also promises a autonomy of approximately 150 km in a single charge, provided you maintain an average speed of 25 km/h. However, few motorcyclists will probably have the patience to ride at that pace. Please note, however, that the maximum speed of this machine is limited to 110 km/h. Three driving modes are also available: Eco, Sport and Hyper.
Other components that make this off-road electric motorcycle capable include a long-travel suspension system. It consists of a fully adjustable Air+Spring front fork, with 250 mm of travel. The Link-type rear shock also features a complete set of adjustments. This motorcycle rides on a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel. As such, uses standard enduro/dual sport tires. It stops with front and rear hydraulic disc brakes.
As mentioned before, there is no information yet on the price and availability of the new Talaria Dragon.
