After running with the OpenRun Pro helmet, it’s time to swim with the OpenSwim Pro. On the occasion of the opening of CES in Las Vegas, the Chinese manufacturer of bone conduction headphones Shokz unveiled its latest model, the Shokz OpenSwim Pro, this Monday.

As its name suggests, this bone conduction headset completes the manufacturer’s range by being positioned above the OpenSwim headset. It will therefore include the main functionalities, starting with the possibility of storing music directly in the headset.

Let us remember that water can be a real obstacle to the transmission of Bluetooth waves. Therefore, Shokz decided to get around this obstacle by integrating a storage system directly into his helmet. In this case, the Shokz OpenSwim Pro allows you to store 32 GB of music, or up to 8000 titles in MP3 formats, but also WMA, FLAC, AAC or WAV. For comparison, the classic OpenSwim is limited to 4 GB of storage.

In addition to this integrated storage, the OpenSwim Pro includes the main functions of Shokz bone conduction headphones. We will therefore logically find a system of bone conduction transducers which will vibrate the temples to send sounds to the eardrums not through the air, but not through vibration of the skull. Shokz also indicates that it has developed a technologyPremiumPitch 2.0+» supposed to reinforce both bass and treble.

Microphones for making calls

Another new feature compared to the standard OpenSwim, this version “Pro» has two microphones that will allow you to make phone calls while reducing external noise for your interlocutor.

Concerning autonomy, Shokz has integrated a 160 mAh battery here which should allow up to 9 hours of autonomy. The headset is also particularly light with 27 grams on the scale and is obviously resistant to immersion with IP68 certification. Finally, an application is also offered to adjust an equalizer with several presets included.

The Shokz OpenSwim Pro helmet will be launched later this year in France at a price which has not yet been communicated by the manufacturer. For comparison, the standard OpenSwim is priced at 190 euros, just like the OpenRun Pro.
