“A high chair? it’s expensive!“. Marjorie Tallarida knows what she is talking about, she who is the mother of a four-year-old little girl and has been a childminder for a long time. This is why she decided to launch, in February 2023, her rental micro-enterprise childcare equipment, “Baby loc 06”.
“When we went by car on vacation, the car was “armored”she remembers. And then one day, at my grandmother’s, in Barcelonette, while looking for a bathtub for my 4-month-old daughter, I realized that I was not the only one, that’s how the idea of renting childcare equipment came to me.»
How it works?
If you come on vacation to Menton and the surrounding area, you can contact “Baby loc 06” to rent equipment. A rental contract is offered to you, the list of prices is set out on the site. A deposit must be paid. “I cannot afford to recover broken equipment, which cannot then be rented again,” explains Marjorie Tallarida.
What equipment is rented?
High chairs, travel cot, car seat, changing table, the list of items that can be rented can be found on the Baby loc 06 website. They are classified according to their function: sleep, meals, car… “I rented a deckchair this summer for my granddaughter. Nice surprise the deckchair was magnificent with swing and soft music“, comments Nelly, from Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, on the site. The equipment is slipped into protective covers and can be collected in the company’s hangar in Menton. “But I also travel to Monaco“, specifies Marjorie Tallarida.
How much does it cost?
Allow 7 euros for a travel cot, for one day, up to 30 euros, between 22 days and 31 days. Drawsheets, sheets and mattresses can also be rented for prices ranging from 4 to 14 euros depending on the rental period. To rent a car seat, count on 15 euros per day, just like a stroller. Where does the material come from?
“I was a childminder, I looked after four children,” says Marjorie Tallarida. “So I already had equipment available.” Converted into a live-in nanny, Marjorie Tallarida launched Baby Loc 06 at the same time. “I monitor the equipment to ensure that it meets standards,” she adds. Who can benefit from it?
Any interested person, who comes for a stay on the Côte d’Azur, who does not wish to buy equipment, has no place to store it. On vacation on the coast, visiting grandparents, people use its services for all kinds of reasons.
