This is why Tesla is not planning to release a smartphone

There have been many rumors regarding Tesla and CEO Elon Musk’s intention to launch a smartphone with many features, such as connecting to the Internet using Starlink, navigating through Tesla, and even controlling the phone using thoughts.

On top of all that, the phone is also said to be equipped with night vision cameras, solar charging and cryptocurrency mining capabilities as well. However, all of these rumors have not been confirmed by Tesla and are unfounded, so does this mean that the hopes of launching a Tesla smartphone will never come to fruition?
No one can say for sure whether Tesla will consider making smartphones in the future, but Elon Musk said in a tweet on Twitter, “We are definitely not developing any kind of smartphone,” even referring to smartphones as a “technology yesterday”. Rather than focusing on older devices like phones, Musk hinted at something he saw as the “future”: Neuralink.

Some may ask, how does Neuralink, a company co-founded by Musk that develops advanced brain machine interfaces, compare to something as mundane as a smartphone? Well, let’s just say Musk has big plans for this technology, which can be implanted into the brains, allowing people to control computers with their minds in the process.
And as the concept of the so-called Tesla phone shows, its app can easily be translated to mind-controlled smartphones, but with more focus on devices that bridge the gap between people and their devices rather than the device itself. While this may seem too futuristic or far-fetched to some, Neuralink has already provided a sneak peek of what it’s like to play games with this technology.
Physical device interfaces have long been a barrier preventing humans from interacting with their devices more accurately. However, brain interfaces have the ability to bypass this limitation, making human and machine, in every sense of the word, united, according to Slash Gear.
