This is what Russia sends to its front-line soldiers

Again and again there are reports from Russian soldiers who complain about missing equipment, missing ammunition or missing food in the Ukraine war. But Moscow does not abandon its fighters and sends packages. Some soldiers filmed themselves opening it and inspecting the contents. The unverified video of this was shared on Twitter by Anton Gerashenko, a Ukrainian government adviser.

The logo of the Russian party “United Russia” is emblazoned on the package. A soldier opens it with a knife, while a comrade films him. First takes out a stack of plastic cups, then a bottle of holy water. The rest of the package is mostly filled with grain in plastic bags and two canned goods that are barely shown in the video.

The highlight of the supply package is in a clear pencil case. It contains portraits of Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin. Above it is written in big letters “for prayers”. Loudly disappointed with the support from home, the soldier tells his comrade to turn off the camera.
