The new one PlayStation 5 es thinner, lighter and has a removable disk drive. This console version, usually called “Slim”, is smaller than the current one (hence the name) and replaces the Digital Edition, as expected.
The drive is a pluggable Ultra HD Blu-ray and a 1TB SSD (solid state memory). Due to its reduced size, its volume is more than 30% less and its weight between 18% and 24% compared to previous models.
Another quality is that the disk drive is sold separately and can be added to the digital version.
Sales of these new versions begin in November in the United States and the following months in the rest of the world. “Once inventory of the current PS5 model is exhausted, the new PS5 will become the only model available,” the company details.
Prices in the United States:
– PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray drive: $499.99.
– PS5 digital edition: $449.99.
– A vertical stand will also be sold for all versions of PS5 for $30.
