The new Animal Welfare Law includes this novelty, until now reserved only for dangerous breeds
On March 29, the new Animal Welfare Law, which introduces so many novelties in its articles to improve the lives of our pets. His entry into force will not take place until September 29, but there are aspects that must be taken into account in advance to prepare ahead of time. It is the case of Mandatory dog insurancewhich from that date should have all breeds, and not just potentially dangerous ones, as up to now.
This policy consists of a liability insurance, that protect the owner of the animal in the event that it causes damage to a third party, such as a bite, causes an accident or damages other people’s property. AND this is the basic difference with conventional insurance for animals.
As in other types of insurance, there is a wide range of policies for dogs and also other pets, depending on the breed and the benefits that said insurance includes.
The most basic price may go from 25 to 40 euros per yeartaking into account that civil liability insurance for potentially dangerous dogs (PPP) is currently around 62 euros, according to the specialized journalist Rocío R. Gavira on the Wamiz portal.
