this is the most expensive car in the world!

This delirious version of the Clio, equipped with a V6 in the center rear position, snatches away at the price of gold, as evidenced by this record-breaking car.

In the 90s, Renault was able to launch completely crazy cars like the Spider or the Clio V6. endorsed by brand management, the latter is entrusted to the good care of Tom Walkinshaw known for his TWR team to ensure its development and production. In no time, this turns the Clio II into a bomb by means of a 230 hp 3.0-litre V6 engine placed just behind the front seats. Developed in a hurry, the car was marketed in 2000 but it turned out to be very unpredictable in his reactions. In 2003, it was replaced by Phase 2 which is much more to the point and which develops 250 hp.

Flop commercial

Sold very expensive and hardly usable, the V6 differs from a simple Clio diesel only by its body kit. Even if the interior receives an Alcantara covering, the pill is hard to pass to customers. As a result, less than 3,000 units of the “super” Clio were produced at TWR in Finland (Series 1) and at Renault Sport in Dieppe (Series 2). She disappears in semi-anonymity in 2005 after only convincing brand aficionados.

The Unicorn

Due to its rarity and its unusual characterthe Clio V6 was sought after by collectors who consider it the spiritual daughter of the Renault 5 Turbo of the early 80s. Over the years, prices increased to be around €60,000 for a copy in good condition. However, some cars are worth much more depending on their specs or condition. This is the case of this yellow V6 with right-hand drive showing only 27,793 km on the clock. Dating back to 2004, it has been a old press car before entering a private collection. Preserved in near mint condition, it fetched €108,687 at auction on 1is last March!
