The Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced the list of top badminton players to compete in the annual top event, the World Tour Finals (WTF), which will be held in Hangzhou, China, on 11-15 December 2024.
Jonatan Christie’s men’s singles qualified for Hangzhou in the last seconds after reaching the final of the 2024 China Masters and the semifinals of the 2024 Kumamoto Masters.
Jonathan will compete with seven other top world players, namely 2024 Paris Olympic gold medalist Viktor Axelsen from Denmark, 2024 China Masters champion Anders Antonsen also from Denmark, world number one Shi Yu Qi from China, Chou Tien Chen from Taiwan, Kodai Naraoka from Japan, Kunlavut Vitidsarn from Thailand, and Lee Zii Jia from Malaysia.

In the women’s singles event, 2024 Paris Olympic bronze medalist Gregoria Mariska Tunjung is ranked fourth in the 2024 WTF qualifications.
He will meet Paris 2024 Olympic gold medalist An Se Young from South Korea and two Chinese players, Wang Zhi Yi and Han Yue.
There are also two Japanese players, Aya Ohori and Akane Yamaguchi, as well as two Thai women’s singles, Busanan Ongbamrungphan and Supanida Katethong.

In the men’s doubles event, Indonesia sent two representatives, namely Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto in fourth place in qualifying and the non-national training pair Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani who secured their WTF place after reaching the final of the 2024 China Masters last week.
They will meet two-time Olympic gold medalists Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin from Taiwan, Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen from Denmark, and young Chinese pair He Ji Ting/Ren Xiang Yu.
Then, two Malaysian pairs, namely Goh Sze/Nur Izzuddin and Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik, as well as Taiwanese pair Lee Jhe-Huei/Yang Po-Hsuan.

Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi were the only Indonesian representatives in the women’s doubles. They confirmed their place in the WTF after being consistent in the last few tournaments in Asia.
Ana/Tiwi will compete with 2024 Paris Olympic gold medalists Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan (China), Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning (China), Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi (Japan), Baek Ha Na/Lee So Hee ( South Korea), Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan (Malaysia), Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida (Japan), and Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Pullela (India).
Meanwhile, for mixed doubles, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja were the only representatives from Indonesia.
They will meet strong pairs such as Paris 2024 Olympic medalists Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong (China), Jiang Zhen Bang/Wei Ya Xin (China), Goh Soon Huat/Lai Shevon Jemie and Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei (Malaysia), Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet (Hong Kong), Yang Po-Hsuan/Hu Ling Fang (Taiwan), and Kim Won Ho/Jeong Na Eun (South Korea).
