This is the happiest nation in the world, according to the new World Happiness Report

Finland has been named the nation with the happiest people for the sixth consecutive year, according to the World Happiness Report, released on Monday.

This report, which assessed the effects of the coronavirus crisis on the well-being of the population, is drawn up each year by American scientists on the basis of surveys carried out by the Gallup Institute.

According to the latest edition, the happiest individuals following the Finns are to be found in Denmark, Iceland, Israel, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Luxembourg and New Zealand.

Austria and Australia follow in 11th and 12th place, while Belgium is in 17th place.

Afghanistan and Lebanon sadly close this ranking with the most unhappy populations, according to the polls.

The researchers say happiness ratings have remained “remarkably resilient” despite the Covid-19 pandemic, with overall averages from 2020 through 2022 as high as those in the pre-pandemic years of 2017 through 2019.
