The middle of the year 1139 AH corresponding to February 1727 is considered the beginning of the era of Imam Muhammad bin Saud, the day on which Imam Muhammad announced the establishment of the first Saudi state, which lasted until 1233 AH (1818), and its capital is Diriyah and its constitution is the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of his Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. Therefore, the royal order came regarding considering the founding day of Saudi Arabia an official holiday.
As for the Saudi National Day, King Abdulaziz unified the entity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which falls on Thursday, Jumada Al-Awwal 21, 1351 AH, corresponding to September 23, 1932.
The Saudi National Day holiday remains the same every year, in addition to the annual Foundation Day holiday on February 22.
