Shocking new information has come to light regarding the tragedy that occurred in Amorgos with the victim of a 57-year-old Greek tourist.
More specifically, her relative speaks exclusively to Live News about how a family getaway to Amorgos had this outcome.
“She was with her daughter for a walk. They were walking, she was further behind her daughter and fell. We know he slipped and fell over the cliff because the railings weren’t there. The spot is 20 meters high,” he said while following a video secured by MEGA of the spot from where this 57-year-old woman fell off the cliff in front of her daughter.
It is worth noting that two days after the tragic incident, the deputy mayor with a crew installed a railing at the spot from where the unfortunate woman fell.
The chronicle
She was walking with her daughter on the road that leads to the beach, when suddenly a passing car blinded them with its lights, causing the woman to trip and fall down the 20-meter-deep cliff.
“She was staying in a hotel in the area of Agios Pavlos and she was going up the road to go to the bus stop with her daughter and at some point a car came from above. They saw a light and her daughter shouted to her to look out for the car. And he went to the left towards the cliff and fell to the cliff below”, described the mayor of Amorgos, Lefteris Karaiskos.
Residents complain that this is an unguarded and extremely dangerous part of the public road in Amorgos. They speak of a trap point, as there is no lighting, no fencing and not even proper signage.
“That’s how you go up, you see that it has a bar. She was blinded by car lights and fell off the cliff. A piece of road is missing,” said a resident of the island.
