Wojciech Kwaśniak regarding the court’s verdict

Kwaśniak – as money.pl says – is satisfied with the court’s verdict. Indicates that managed to bring the trial to an end, despite problems with the change of judges, “thanks to the determination of the police and the prosecutor’s office.”

However, he adds that “only two of the four direct defendants were sentenced.” In his opinion, this is only “the beginning of revealing the truth of the shameful practice.”

In an interview with money.pl, the former deputy head of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority notes that: the main perpetrator of the attack on him “has been lost to the Polish justice system” and there has been no contact with him for two years.

In his opinion a parliamentary commission of inquiry into the SKOK Wołomin scandal should be established.

Then the truth will be revealed – Kwaśniak believes.

– Years of trials, a court case that was founded in September under Art. 231, the actions of the state – all this meant that my career, my life and the life of my family were destroyed – he points out in an interview with us.

The trial regarding the beating of Wojciech Kwaśniak

The trial in this case dragged on for many years. It started before the District Court for Warsaw Mokotów in 2015. However, in November 2017, the judge handling the case went on maternity leave. The proceedings, which were already in their final stages, therefore had to start once more. Consequently, the process started once more in April 2019.

Wojciech Kwaśniak, as deputy head of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, supervised the audit of the Wołomin SKOK, from which – according to the prosecutor’s office – several billion zlotys were siphoned off. In 2014, he was brutally beaten in front of his house in the Wilanów district of Warsaw.
