Terror attack in Moscow
At least 60 people are said to be dead and 145 injured. There must be children among the injured.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no information that Swedes have been affected.
Classified as a terrorist attack
Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin said earlier in the evening that it was “a terrorist attack”.
“The entire world community must condemn this heinous crime,” writes Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zacharova on Telegram.
Ukraine: We were not behind
Ukraine’s presidential office quickly came out and denied that the country had anything to do with the act.
“Let’s be clear, Ukraine had absolutely nothing to do with these events,” writes Mykhailo Podoljak, adviser to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on Telegram.
In Washington, the White House says in a statement that the attack is “terrible” but also that there are no indications that Ukraine is behind the attack.
Even Belarus leader Aleksandr Lukashenko has condemned the attack.
EU: Condemns all attacks on innocent civilians
Condolences have poured in. Among other things, from the US embassy in Russia, which previously warned that an attack might take place.
Portugal and Egypt have also shown their support. EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell says that “the EU condemns all attacks once morest innocent civilians”. India condemns the act, as does China’s leader Xi Jinping, who says he condemns all forms of terrorism.
IS claims the deed
The terrorist group IS has claimed responsibility for the act, and the US claims to have warned of IS acts in Moscow in the near future. Russia has not made an official statement regarding who may be behind the act, and President Putin has only said via a spokesperson that “he hopes that the injured recover quickly”.
