Clausura 2024: This is how the standings look following matchday 8 of the national tournament
The defeats of Comunicaciones and Municipal marked the day, while Cobán and Mixco further established themselves at the top of the table.

CSD Cobán Imperial continues to demonstrate why it is one of the teams with the best form so far in the 2024 Clausura Tournament of national soccer. The team led by coach Adrián García barely has one defeat following eight days played and will remain in that position for at least one date since its 17 points keep it unattainable.
Just behind the princes charming is Fabricio Benítez’s Deportivo Mixco. The fans of the Chicharronero team have enjoyed their team in recent weeks as Mixco accumulates five wins, one draw and one defeat in the last month. Their most recent victory came on Wednesday, February 28, when they managed to come back 2-1 once morest Guastatoya at the Santo Domingo stadium.
This good streak allows Mixco to rest in second place with 16 points. While in the accumulated table the Mixqueño team has moved away from the issue of relegation with its 35 units.
Third place is Antigua GFC. The colonial team defeated Municipal on the night of February 28 at the Pensativo stadium and managed to reach 15 points, surpassing the councilors and Communications in the process.
Already off the podium is Municipal, fourth with 13 points, Malacateco fifth with the same amount and Comunicaciones occupies sixth place with 12 points. Guastatoya and Xelajú MC complete the classification boxes.
The duel at the bottom of the table between Deportivo Achuapa and Zacapa is still pending on matchday 8.
