This is how the dawn was experienced in Medellín that left at least seven burned and two fires

Like every year, Medellín experienced a thunderous welcome to December with the night of the alborada. On the night of this Wednesday, the people of Antioquia witnessed the traditional activity with which it is customary to receive Christmas and the explosions of the explosives were heard throughout the Aburrá.

Users on social networks recorded the dawn on video and photos from different viewpoints and tall buildings in the city.

However, the dawn left, according to the first balance of the authorities, at least seven wounded by gunpowder.

To the dismal start of the last month of the year due to the exaggerated burning of gunpowder during the night and early morning on Wednesday and this Thursday, we must add two fires that the Official Fire Department had to attend to Medellín, apparently caused by balloons.

The cases occurred on the closing night of the month of November and the early morning of the start of the Christmas season.

The Administrative Department of Disaster Risk Management -Dagrd- reported that the firefighters took charge of the situations and managed to control the flames in both cases.

The most serious event occurred in the La Mansión neighborhood (northeast commune), where a balloon that fell on a parking lot caused a fire that generated affectations to eight vehicles and 37 motorcycles, also splash into a neighboring house. The emergency was reported to the relief agency at 2:06 in the morning and managed to be controlled.

The scene of the second fire was the Manrique neighborhood, Las Granjas sector, northeastern zone, where two houses suffered the impact of the flames, that did not spread thanks to the timely intervention of the fire brigade.

The Dagrd called on citizens not to use balloons in the December celebrations, since in many cases they fall and generate fire that sparks fires and leaves losses in buildings, belongings and even victims.
