This Monday, January 24, the bus drivers from Ternera and Olaya met at the Glorieta de El Pozón to protest. This is in response to the judicial resolution that forced the Administrative Department of Traffic and Transportation (DATT) to take actions that prevent the circulation of these routes.

Roberto Batista, leader of drivers on both routes, reiterated that agreements have not yet been reached, despite what the District says.

The leader pointed out that the protests that will take place this Monday will be more intense than those on Friday. The drivers left Villagrande de Indias in regarding 80 vehicles in a “turtle plan” heading to the Historic Center.

11:44 a. m. The Police cross a van in the mixed lane of Pedro de Heredia Avenue, at the height of the Jaime Morón football stadium, to prevent the passage of protesters.

at 7:40 a.m. Leader Roberto Batista Miranda, who represents the drivers, told The universal that if the District does not resolve “we are going on indefinite strike”.

According to Batista, the demand to remove them is made by Transcaribe and the District, therefore the latter must give them an immediate solution.

“Either they let us work or they scrap our cars and compensate us.” In addition, he added that the latest proposal from the Mayor’s Office on the transfer of drivers to another route, which he assures: “one more car does not fit.”

No meeting has been scheduled for today, but the drivers demand that Mayor William Dau be the one to approach them to negotiate with them.
