This is how support work is progressing in Cumanacoa (+Details)

On the night of Friday, July 5, Major General Nayade Lockiby Belmonte, the sole authority of Cumanacoa, provided a report on the progress of the recovery efforts in the municipality, following having been seriously affected by Hurricane Beryl.

During the broadcast of the President of the Republic’s radio program, Con Maduro de Sudente, Lockiby had a telephone contact with the president. There he indicated the progress in the recovery of the Cumanacoa parish, Monte municipality in the state of Sucre.

According to Lockiby, today the teams are looking to verify the 7,970 homes affected by this natural disaster. He stressed that they have already checked a total of 4,000 homes and are looking to finish the census to deliver official data.

The Ministry of the Interior points out that more than 29 thousand people were affected by the rains and floods in Cumanacoa. It also highlighted that thanks to the popular organization, the work to receive the necessary benefits and resources has been facilitated.

Following the instructions of Nicolás Maduro, they have delivered drinking water through the CLAP, hot food through the food houses and water in cisterns for household use.

“We started a census of producers and merchants, and to date 170 people have been registered through the Ministry of Commerce and the Bank of Venezuela for financial support and to achieve the economic reactivation of the municipality,” said Lockiby.

He also noted that they were able to reconnect the water plant thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Water, managing to complete 60% of the water connection by pipeline.
