this is how she described herself

Great in everything, she might never find happiness.

In the mid-1910s, young Faina Feldman looks in love at a photo of the artist Kachalov, which angers her father. Abandoning everything, a 19-year-old Jewess flees to Moscow to become a great actress. Thus begins a biographical series regarding Faina Ranevskaya, the most famous woman in cinema, who became the idol of millions during her lifetime.

The creators of the biopic “Ranevskaya” did not want to make a documentary, and therefore they decided to move away from the historical events in the life of everyone’s favorite artist. But there is also a true motive, which turns into a cross-cutting one in the course of the series – this is loneliness. “Satellite of Glory,” as Faina Georgievna herself called him.

According to rumors, she never got married due to an injury she received in her youth. She liked an actor from her troupe, once he invited her to visit, and when she came, she saw him in the company of another woman. Ranevskaya was asked to “walk”.

Screenings of films with her participation collected all the stars. The Dream was watched by Chaplin, Pickford, Dreiser and Paul Robeson. US President Roosevelt called her a brilliant tragic actress, and Brezhnev called her “Muley-don’t-nervous-me.” The General Secretary uttered these words, presenting her with the Order of Lenin. Awards, by the way, she called funeral personal belongings.

Being world famous, Ranevskaya compared herself to an old palm tree at the station – no one needs it, but it’s a pity to throw it away. And she called her creative path swimming in the toilet the butterfly style. Original, like everything she did.
