Dani Carvajal has once again revolutionised social media with a gesture that has already become a trademark of the club: while the Spanish national anthem was playing before the match against Georgia, he looked at the television camera and winked.
It’s something the player usually does before La Roja’s matches and it has once again generated a multitude of comments. But this time, with half of Europe watching the games, many foreigners have also noticed.
And, of course, they have expressed their surprise. For example, one user said: “None of the Spanish players singing the national anthem is a disgrace.” And another added: “At least Carvajal gave us a wink. That’s something I suppose.”
Another says: “Shameless wink from Carvajal (Spain is going to lose)”. And another: “Someone please stop Carvajal and his winks.”
But some users from abroad went further and directly criticised the gesture: “Did Carvajal just wink at the camera during the national anthem? Please act your age.”
