This is how Kansas City’s victory in Super Bowl LVII was experienced

CITY OF MEXICO.- One minute and 48 seconds in the clock of the last quarter. The eyes of the entire world and a packed State Farm Stadium. The Chiefs take the glory into their own hands and are proclaimed Super Bowl LVII champions following a 27-yard kick from Harrison Butker.

Kansas City is NFL champion for the third time in its history in a final that will go down in the books.

All the emotion and energy charge that the Super Bowl preview carries, was embodied in their first offensive series by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Between runs and pinpoint passes, they got the Chiefs into the red zone and Jalen Hurts sent a clear message to Patrick Mahomes by scoring the first touchdown of the game. Patrick Mahomes responded quickly by finding his faithful squire Travis Kelce, one of the stars of the night along with his brother Jason.

The first half would continue to be charged with emotions and the Chiefs missed some opportunities.

In the first quarter, Harrison Butker missed a field goal attempt that might have given Kansas City the lead in the game. Already in the second quarter, the champions of the National Conference attacked with the same intensity that started the game thanks to the connection between Hurts and AJ Smith.

However, when it appeared they were taking control of the game, the Philadelphia quarterback turned the ball over at half court and Nick Bolton traded it for a score-tying touchdown.

Jalen Hurts became the first quarterback to convert four carrying touchdowns in a single postseason. Patrick Mahomes, who already had little time on the field, set off the alarms in Kansas City when he was injured with 1 minute to go in the first half following risking it on third chance and 15 yards to go due to a tackle by TJ Edwards to the ankle

The first half ended with a 10-point lead for the Eagles, trailing 24-14 over their rival.

The call to be the “heir” of Tom Brady, returned for the beginning of the third quarter and a five-minute offensive series led to a score by running back Isiah Pacheco to bring the Chiefs closer on the scoreboard and put the numbers at 24-21.

The comeback began to cook in the last quarter. Kadarius Toney was instrumental in guiding the team to the lead for the first time in the match. First, receiving a touchdown pass from Mahomes in the red zone, and then returning a punt to the 5-yard line, which led to Skyy Moore’s converted touchdown. By then, the Chiefs turned the score around and led 35-27.

Hurts, on a night he’ll never forget, had four rushing touchdowns in the game to tie the game with five minutes to go.

However, Patrick Mahomes ran out on time and drove the Chiefs into the red zone to kill the game.

Thus, Kansas City is NFL champion and they got their third ring in franchise history, the second with Patrick Mahomes as quarterback.
