This is how Joakim Lundell is affected by the autism diagnosis | Pleasure

Renée Nyberg.

In Tuesday’s “Renées brygga”, filmmaker, artist and Youtube profile Joakim Lundell, 38, talks regarding his difficult childhood but also how the autism diagnosis affects him.

– I’m a huge introvert, I was terrified to come here, I mightn’t sleep or anything, says Joakim Lundell in the program.

The other participants drop their chins and haven’t noticed anything at all.

– I have Asperger’s as a functional variation, or what they say today. I am very introverted. Social contexts are not my thing, I don’t go to events. I’ve been to Kristalangelan every year, but it’s also terrifying, says Joakim Lundell.

Order and order are also important to him.

– Otherwise I can’t function. I have to sort things carefully, I have to have routines. Just traveling, getting started on things, I get death anxiety sometimes for weeks before if I know I’m going to fly.

This is autism

In the past, it was common to talk regarding diagnoses such as Asperger’s syndrome and autistic syndrome. But it turns out that these diagnoses have more similarities than differences, even though people with autism may have different needs for support. Therefore, these diagnoses are collectively called autism.

Autism affects the ability to be social and to communicate with others, and also means that you do or take an interest in things that can sometimes be perceived as different.

Joakim Lundell regarding the difficulty

Renée Nyberg wonders if that is the worst part.

– No, but say that you and I are going out on a trip and we have packed and everything and I have planned to wear a brown T-shirt with my jeans on the day we travel. If you don’t find what you want, you might take something else, but if I don’t find that brown t-shirt that I thought I should have, then my whole world will collapse, says Joakim Lundell.
