Ms. Nguyen Thi Vui – Head of the cooperative group producing Huong Chi longan according to VietGAP standards – said: In 2019, her family and a number of households in the village received 150 trees from the District and Ia Hla Commune’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Ia Hla. Huong Chi longan to grow according to VietGAP standards, associate production with product consumption with Truong Xuan Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative.
Seeing the trees grow and develop well, the family bought nearly 1,000 more seedlings from the cooperative to plant on dead pepper land. This year, her family has regarding 900 trees for harvest, of which 400 trees have entered the business, the average yield is regarding 25 kg of fruit/tree.
“It is estimated that with these 400 trees of Huong Chi longan, I obtained 10 tons of quality fruit according to standards, which are fully covered by the cooperative for 24-25 thousand VND/kg, regarding 2 thousand higher than the market. VND/kg. Excluding investment costs, the profit is regarding 130 million VND.
The remaining 500 trees, I expect to harvest in next March. Growing Huong Chi longan according to VietGAP standards has a lower investment cost than coffee and pepper, and the output is stable, so we are very reassured”-Ms. Vui shared.
Similarly, in recent years, the agricultural production-trade-service-tourism cooperative Ia Mo Nong (Chu Pah district) has linked the production and consumption of agricultural products with the people of the communes in the district. including passion fruit.
Mr. Le Van Thanh – Director of the cooperative – said: The cooperative links with cooperative groups and 178 households growing passion fruit in Ia Mo Nong commune and neighboring communes. From the end of 2022 until now, the price of passion fruit in the market has remained stable at 14-16 thousand VND/kg, helping the associated households to make good profits. On average, each day, the cooperative provides 30-40 tons of fresh lemons to Central Highlands Nafoods Joint Stock Company.

According to Ms. Do Thi Hue – Deputy Director of Truong Xuan Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative: Currently, the cooperative cooperates with regarding 270 farmer households in Chu Puh district to plant 120 hectares of Huong Chi longan according to VietGAP standards. Cooperatives signed contracts to purchase products for people at a price higher than the market by regarding 2,000 VND/kg.
In addition to Chu Puh district, the cooperative also produces and consumes regarding 60 hectares of Huong Chi longan in Chu Se district and is building a model of planting 600 longan trees in Ia Pa district.
