This is a rather rare price for a gaming laptop with an RTX 3070

The Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop, equipped with an 11th generation i5, a 512 GB SSD, but above all an RTX 3070, is currently offered at a price rarely seen for such a technical sheet. Indeed, Cdiscount offers it at “only” 1,019 euros.

Acquiring a gaming laptop with a cutting-edge technical sheet often requires a (very) substantial budget. At first glance, one might think that the Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-527Z model, which features an 11th generation i5 chip, an RTX 3070 and a 512 GB SSD in addition to a 17.3-inch screen, has a very high price. However, it is currently proposed to a price that we would rather see on a laptop with an RTX 3060which makes it a very good deal.

The strengths of the Acer Nitro 5 laptop

  • A 17.3-inch Full HD screen refreshed at 144 Hz
  • Combo RTX 3070 + i5 de 11e gen + 8 Go de RAM
  • Un SSD de 512 Go

A responsive screen and a large diagonal for a laptop

With its 17.3-inch Full HD anti-glare screen, this Acer Nitro 5 laptop is one of the large laptops, whose panels allow you to miss no detail during your game thanks to this large surface area available. This is not the only advantage of this panel: it also has the advantage of being refreshed at 144 Hz. We will therefore benefit from exemplary fluidity during each game.

Otherwise, this laptop shows great solidity with its rather robust black aluminum and plastic chassis. On its keyboard, equipped with RGB backlighting that will appeal to fans of very marked gaming identities, the keys most used by players, which correspond to the main movement controls, are well highlighted. Regarding its weight, this Acer Nitro 5 weighs 3 kg: imposing, it will therefore be more suitable for sedentary use.

A solid configuration for high performance

As mentioned above, the Acer Nitro 5 laptop comes with an RTX 3070, which will offer the possibility of running demanding games with a high level of graphics. On the processor side, we will be entitled to an Intel Core i5-11400H chip, clocked at 2.7 GHz (boost up to 4.5 GHz) supported by 8 GB of RAM. Add to that a 512 GB SSD, which not only offers considerable storage capacity, but also faster launches of your machine as well as reduced loading times.

Finally, on the connectivity side, the Acer Nitro 5 includes an HDMI port, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port (with Thunderbolt 4 and DisplayPort Alt Mode support), two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a LAN port and a headphone / microphone. Enough to connect several peripherals to expand the setup. As for autonomy, the brand announces a usage time of 8 hours, but with such an energy-intensive configuration, it is better to always keep the charger on hand, especially since this laptop is intended to sit on a desk.
