This horizontal Game Boy will appeal to fans of retro consoles

Retro consoles have been on the rise for some time. In 1989, Nintendo revolutionized the world of video games with the Game Boy, a small portable console with a vertical design. Recently, artist Obirux created a Game Boy with a horizontal design. We must admit that the result is not bad.

Obirux named his creation Game Boy DMG-0B. To achieve this result, he had to sacrifice two shells of the original portable console. In addition, the motherboard has been replaced and the original screen has been swapped for an IPS screen, in order to obtain a higher quality display. The new screen also benefits from a backlight and a button to change the screen tint.

The Game Boy DMG-0B no longer works with AA batteries, but with a Li-ion battery. This gives the console greater autonomy. In addition, it is rechargeable by USB. As for the keys, the directional cross as well as the Start and Select buttons have been placed on the left of the screen. The A and B buttons have been placed on the right of the screen.

Obirux has listed the Game Boy DMG-0B for sale on its site. Unfortunately, it looks like stocks are already sold out. But if you ever want to make your own Game Boy horizontal, the artist showed his different stages of production in a video.
