This gesture allows you to jump to the chronological news feed on Twitter

On Twitterusers can already choose between the chronological feed, which displays the latest tweets published by the accounts they follow, and the algorithmic feed, which selects the tweets according to their profile.

If this option had been launched in 2018, Twitter just announced an improvement for iOS users. Indeed, the latter will be among the first to be able to switch from one wire to another with a simple slip of the finger. This “swipe” will make it easier for users to discover their different news feeds and thus avoid “FOMO”, “Feor Of Missing Out” or “the fear of missing something”. A feeling often shared by users of social networks.

Twitter indicated that this new functionality will be “soon” deployed on the Android application and on the web, without giving a precise date.

Changes also on other social networks

Until now, users might change their default news feed by clicking on the sparkle emoticon in the top right of the home page when opening the Twitter app, and choose between “latest Tweets”. and “Home”. Even when closing the application, this choice was then retained.

Twitter is not the only social network to bring the chronological order up to date. Instagram is also working on the return of its chronological feed. An option widely requested by users for fear of missing the latest posts from the accounts they follow.
