This gadget aims to identify AirTags and other trackers

Berkeley Varitronics Systems (BVS), a company that makes wireless scanning devices, has announced a gadget project that can detect AirTags (and other trackers) right away, even before Apple’s security features.

Called BlueSleuth-Litethe device is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and even clip onto a keychain so it’s always available.

As for its operation, the operation is simple: a single switch allows navigation through all trackers and BLE devicesBluetooth low energyor Bluetooth Low Energy.”>1 nearby, as well as the alert settings.

All major trackers (AirTag, Tile, Galaxy SmartTags, Pebblebee, Chipolo, etc.) are immediately detected. As BlueSleuth-Lite is capable of detecting all BLE devices, the user can also search for any other gadget or accessory, including headphones, smartwatches, phones, tablets, PCs, etc.

If multiple trackers are detected, they will be listed according to signal strength (by proximity) so the user can get specific information about each one. The unit features charging via a Mini USB port and a wireless charging system (Qi standard).

The gadget is currently in the Kickstarter crowdfunding phase — having already raised $13,500 of the targeted $18,000.

Users can contribute any amount, and to obtain a BlueSleuth-Lite (if the project goes into production) it is necessary to pay at least US$500.
