This Florida city was in the first place to live in the US. Miami is not even close

A coastal city in Florida has just been selected as one of the best cities to live in the United States… but no, it’s not Miami.

Scholaroo, a nonprofit educational research company and scholarship booster portal, released its list of the best cities to live in the country in 2023, with Naples, Florida coming in at No. 1.

The study looked at 151 North American cities and used nine important measures of happiness and satisfaction: crime and safety; availability; economy; quality of life; health care; education; employment; pleasure and entertainment and infrastructure.

Naples ranked highest in health care, with the most hospitals, and the highest number of public schools. It ranked in the top two cities in terms of safety, but also had the highest median home value among the cities the study examined. It’s very nice to live, if you have the money.

Meanwhile, Miami ranked a distant 124th of the 151 cities surveyed, despite the fact that just last year, the magazine Time rated it as one of the best cities in the world, and last month Forbes reported that it was among the best cities in the country to live. Apparently, both publications spoke of another Miami. When it comes to Scholaroo, Miami ranked second worst when it came to education, and also scored low on availability and economy.

Other Florida cities on the list include Tampa (14th), Melbourne (21st), Pensacola (33rd) and Fort Myers (38th). The only other Florida city to finish in the top 50 was Jacksonville at number 46.
